About ‘Sea Sense’
There are 146 steps that take you down to Swami’s Beach in coastal southern California near home and studio. About halfway down is a landing. There I have been known to stand in all weathers. Looking out I can see, unless there is fog or squall, the hard line of the horizon where the ocean meets the sky. To the left is the spectacular curving shoreline towards La Jolla, our local ‘queen’s necklace’. To the right, reefs and cliffs of the Self Realization Fellowship. What I’m getting to is this though; at high tide, the most mesmerizing view of all is looking straight down in a bird’s eye view of the water. As waves break against the pylons of the stairs, foam leaps, settles, dissolves. Sea spittle wafts on the surface in an ever-shifting web of patterns that occupies the mind and calms the heart. Sea Sense aims to capture some of the magic.
Production Notes
Each art work is signed and numbered. When the maximum number of artworks in an edition (usually 30) is sold, no more will be produced, assuring the rarity of the work. Each artwork comes with a certificate of authenticity showing the details of its creation.
