About ‘Surging Sea’
I have been in a few storms at sea. Loved the sheer energy crashing about. A bit afraid of the immensity, even from the safety of a 110 foot ex-Navy sub chaser converted to a charter fishing craft. On a boat, oceanic turbulence can be overwhelming, but overwhelmingly exhilarating too. I’ve come to feel that shore is the best place from which to take in the vital force of storming waves. Maybe in a light rain with good parka on, very early morning in Poipu, Kauai, Hawaii. Paint is strangely well suited to capturing surging water. If the pigment is scooped up and mashed down hard and fast off the edge of a knife there is something of the same energy in it, and it shows.
Production Notes
Each art work is signed and numbered. When the maximum number of artworks in an edition (usually 30) is sold, no more will be produced, assuring the rarity of the work. Each artwork comes with a certificate of authenticity showing the details of its creation.
